Ketchum Leadership Change

On July 1, Rob Flaherty, currently Senior Partner and President, will assume the role of CEO of Ketchum and I will become Chairman. I am certain that our clients, our employees and the industry will greet this news with great enthusiasm.

The two of us have had the great pleasure of working together for more than 20 years. During the past couple of years we have carefully planned this transition to ensure it is a seamless one.

In Rob we have a leader who is distinctly qualified to take on the role of CEO and continue on the course we’ve charted together. He is passionate about Ketchum and our success. He embodies the values of the firm, brings integrity to every situation, and sincerely cares about our culture of collaboration that makes Ketchum so special.

We will maintain our commitment to providing clients with the break through work and high value service that is expected of us; and our talent with the opportunities for learning, development and growth that keep Ketchum a great place to work. As an agency and as individuals, we will remain supporters of and active participants in our industry.

I joined Ketchum in 1983 and have been CEO since 2000. It has been a privilege serving as Ketchum’s CEO through more than a decade of extraordinary change and opportunity in the communications industry. I am enormously proud of how Ketchum transformed during that time.

By all measures we have just completed the best year in our history, culminating in Ketchum receiving many of the industry’s most prestigious awards for our client work and for the firm itself. This includes just three months ago being named PRWeek’s 2012 agency of the Year.  We believe that this recognition is a reflection of our sharp focus on clients and our people. We also believe that underlying it are the values and culture that have been at our very core for the 89 years we have been in business.

Ray has been CEO of Ketchum since 2000. During that time, the firm has added to its client service footprint in Europe, China, India and Russia and nearly tripled in size. He actively counsels clients, has been included in PRWeek’s Power List and serves in leadership positions across the industry.
